Fresh produce giants are innovating to capture the massive “functional food” market driven by GLP-1 treatments and the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement. Taylor Farms recently launched 11 nutrient-enriched products, including salads that offer up to 23g of protein. Their development team achieved this by integrating high-quality whey protein into dressings and toppings without compromising the flavor or texture of the greens.
Naturipe Farms followed a similar path with its SnackBites line, which was nearly eight years in development. These refrigerated clusters use a blend of peanut butter powder, whey, and yogurt powder to surround a real berry center. Each serving provides 12g of protein and 100 calories per bite. By focusing on simple ingredients and “berry-forward” flavors, Naturipe aims to provide a clean-label alternative to highly processed protein bars. To read more, check out FreshFruitPortal.
