At Naturipe, growing the perfect blueberry starts long before harvest. Our growers carefully select plant varietals based on flavor, texture, and plant performance, as well as the likelihood for varietals to thrive in specific regions. Some are better suited for the challenging winters of Michigan, while others prefer the warm peaks of Peru. This approach allows us to optimize harvesting times with other regions, ensuring that we’re able to deliver berries at their peak 12 months a year.

Sustainability in Action
We like to refer to blueberries as a zero waste plant. When we harvest blueberries, we carefully remove and set aside any berries that aren’t suitable for customers. We then take those berries, as well as all the leaves, stems, and other natural debris that comes with harvesting, and reenter it into the soil as compost.
Packaging Waste Reduction
When it’s time to package up blueberries, some of our clamshells use a special heat seal, which helps to reduce plastic in packaging. Our blueberry growers have received several certifications signifying the positive environmental impact of our efforts.
Holistic Approach
When it comes to farming blueberries, our growers take a holistic approach, focusing on the entire ecosystem. Key elements of this dynamic system are the health of our soil and essential pollinators. Throughout North and South America, Naturipe has established well over 1000 acres of permanent Pollinator Habitats filled with an array of beneficial plants.
Certified Renewable
And that’s not all. When it’s time to pack up our fresh blueberries, a large percentage of our operations are powered with renewable energy. And the very package your blueberries are sold in is made with post-consumer (curbside) recycled content, sometimes up to 100%. Our growers hold many certifications such as LEAF Marque (Sustainable Farming), Organic, Fair Trade and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for the protection of pollinators.
