Sustainability in Action
We like to refer to blackberries as a zero waste plant. When we harvest them, we carefully remove and set aside any berries that aren’t suitable for customers. We then take those berries, as well as all the leaves, stems, and other natural debris that comes with harvesting, and reenter it into the soil as compost.
Packaging Waste Reduction
When it’s time to pack up our fresh raspberries, the very package our blackberries are sold in is made with post-consumer (curbside) recycled content, sometimes up to 50% and has been optimized for recycling
Holistic Approach
When it comes to farming blackberries, our growers take a holistic approach, focusing on the entire ecosystem. Key elements of this dynamic system are the health of our soil and essential pollinators. Throughout North and South America, Naturipe has established well over 1000 acres of permanent Pollinator Habitats filled with an array of beneficial plants. Our growers hold many certifications such as GFSI recognized Food Safety Audits, environmental practices and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) certifications that demonstrate our commitment to pollinator health.
