The Mexican government has launched a pro-forest certification to address deforestation in the avocado industry. This system ensures that production is sustainable and protects vital water resources. Naturipe Avocados was among the first to earn this certification. The seal helps retailers identify growers who truly commit to environmental conservation. It also guarantees that avocados do not come from land cleared by intentional fires. This transparency strengthens trust throughout the entire global supply chain.

Mexico expects a record crop of 3 billion pounds of avocados through June 2026. The new certification provides a structured way to manage these massive volumes. Retailers are now accelerating this trend by requiring the certification from their suppliers. In addition to forest protection, Naturipe is testing compostable PLU stickers to further reduce waste. These initiatives allow the industry to meet high demand while maintaining eco-friendly standards. Shoppers can look forward to high-quality avocados and promotional pricing throughout the year.
