If there’s a new mug in Dad’s future, make it count! Raise a glass to the father figures who make life sweeter with a crisp, refreshing summer shandy infused with a handcrafted, sweet Naturipe blueberry reduction.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup Naturipe Blueberries
- 2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Honey or simple syrup
- 4 bottles (12 oz each) Crisp wheat beer or light lager
- Chilled 2 cups Fresh lemonade
- Chilled Extra Naturipe Blueberries
- Lemon slices for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of Naturipe Blueberries, lemon juice, and honey over medium heat. Cook for 5-7 minutes, gently mashing the blueberries with a fork as they warm to release their juices.
- Once the mixture becomes syrupy, remove it from the heat and let it cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a seedless syrup.
- To build the drinks, spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the cooled blueberry reduction into the bottom of four clear beer mugs.
- Pour 1/2 cup of chilled lemonade into each mug, stirring gently to incorporate the blueberry syrup.
- Top each mug off slowly with a chilled wheat beer or lager.
- Garnish the top with a handful of floating fresh Naturipe Blueberries and a lemon wheel. Raise a glass and serve immediately!
Pro Tips:
- Tilt your beer mug slightly while pouring the lager to keep the foam head at a manageable level and preserve the beautiful, layered ombre look of the fruit syrup at the bottom.
