Sustainable Farm

Sustainability as a Matter of Principle

At Naturipe we take sustainability to heart. We are thoughtful at every opportunity to tread gently. From our farming practices to our packaging choices and transportation alternatives, we have our eyes on a bright tomorrow.

As farmers, our livelihood depends on the well-being of the land and planning for the future. Naturipe is dedicated to sustainability—living within the Earth’s limits. It’s about understanding the connections between and achieving balance among the social, economic, and environmental pieces of our community to assure a bright future for generations to come.

This dedication to sustainability is reflected in our growers, who embrace Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) in all elements of production. GAPs rely on four principles:

  • Economically and efficiently produce sufficient, safe and nutritious food
  • Sustain and enhance natural resources
  • Maintain viable farming enterprises and contribute to sustainable livelihoods, and
  • Meet the cultural and social demands of society

GAPs are guidelines established to ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees while eliminating the potential for contamination of the food products. GAPs address the issues of production site selection, adjacent land use, fertilizer usage, water quality and usage, pest control and pesticide monitoring, harvesting practices, packaging storage, field sanitation and product transportation.

A wise farmer once said that the best thing a farmer can leave on their field is their shadow. That principle applies to everything we touch, working with nature, not against it.
