Tasty Naturipe® Blueberries

They may be tiny in size but Naturipe® blueberries are big on flavor and health benefits. Naturipe® growers have been growing blueberries for generations on their farms. These families take tremendous pride in what they do and it shows in the berries. Blueberries are one of the few truly blue foods on earth, but they don’t start that way. They first appear white, turn red and finally blue, making them an All-American berry.

Blueberries 101

Pick blueberries that are plump, dent free and blue. You don’t want any red on your blueberries, as they do not continue to ripen after harvesting. A silvery sheen on your berries is a good thing; it’s a blueberries way of protecting itself from the harsh rays of the sun. Store your unwashed berries in your refrigerator and they should last five to seven days. Simply rinse before serving.
