Strawberry Kuchen
A colorful twist on coffeecake.

1 1/2 cups Naturipe© Farms strawberries, washed, drained and chopped
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
Batter:
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
2 cups flour
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cardamom
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
1/2 cup milk
Powdered sugar for garnish
Place strawberries, 1/3 cup sugar and orange juice in a saucepan. Simmer until strawberries are tender, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat to cool.
Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift all dry ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients, yogurt and milk into butter batter, alternating wet and dry, beating until batter is smooth and thick.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Spoon strawberry mixture onto top of batter.
Place a piece of foil under pan to catch any drippings.
Bake for 30 minutes at 325F, or until top is golden brown. Garnish with a dusting of powdered sugar and a fresh strawberry.

Preheat oven to 325F. Prepare 9" springform pan with butter and flour.Place strawberries, 1/3 cup sugar and orange juice in a saucepan. Simmer until strawberries are tender, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat to cool.
