These families take tremendous pride in what they do—and it shows. Blueberries are one of the few truly blue foods on earth, but they don’t start that way. They first appear white, then turn red, and finally blue, making them an All-American berry.

Naturipe Blueberries are grown in locations throughout North America and Canada from March through October, and in Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, and Mexico during winter months. Naturipe Farms offers conventional and organic blueberries year-round in a variety of packaging sizes.

How to Select, Store, & Handle

Pick blueberries that are plump, dent-free, and blue. Try to purchase your blueberries from a refrigerated display.

Avoid blueberries that have red skin, as they are under-ripe, and blueberries do not continue to ripen after harvest.

You may notice a silvery sheen on your berries, which is a good thing; it’s a blueberry’s way of protecting itself from the harsh rays of the sun.

Store blueberries in the refrigerator. Do not wash them prior to refrigeration.

Simply rinse before serving.

When handled and stored properly in the refrigerator, blueberries can stay fresh 10-14 days after purchase.

Great Blueberry RECIPES

Blueberry White Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
  •  1 cup all-purpose flour
  •  1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  •  1/8 teaspoon salt
  •  1/3 cup unsalted vegan butter, softened
  •  1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  •  1/3 cup frozen blueberries
  •  1/2 cup dairy-free white chocolate chips

  • 1 Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder,and salt.
  • 2 Either in the microwave or on the stovetop, thaw the frozen blueberries until they are soft and jammy. If using the microwave, this should take about 30 seconds on high heat. If using the stovetop, it should take about 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  • 3 Let the blueberries cool for about 2-3 minutes. While they are cooling, use an electric mixer or a stand mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is noticeably lighter in color and fluffy.
  • 4 Add the blueberries to the butter and sugar and cream at a high speed. Make sure the blueberries get “mashed” into the mixture so that they are pureéd and fully combined with the butter and sugar. The mixture should be a deep purple color.
  • 5 Gradually fold the dry ingredients in with the wet ingredients to form a dough. Mix in the white chocolate chips.
  • 6 Chill the dough in the freezer for 30 minutes before shaping into 12 balls.
  • 7 Bake the cookies for 10-13 minutes or until they are slightly brown on the edges. Let cool on a cooling rack for 5-10 minutes.
  • VARIATIONS
  • Dairy-free white chocolate chips can be substituted for regular white chocolate if not vegan.
